Why Hydrogen (H2) as an alternative fuel?

  • H2 is the most abundant element and is primarily found in water.
  • Fast refueling comparable to fueling a traditional gasoline vehicle.
  • Reduce dependance on fossil fuels & greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Economic growth in hydrogen infrastructure and technology, presenting job creation.

Wisconsin Embracing the future of Hydrogen

ULINE

ULINE is working on their fourth major office located in Southeast Wisconsin’s Pleasant Prairie.

Along with this new building they are choosing to focus on hydrogen cell expansion to cut carbon emissions from material handling operations. Uline’s Director of Redistribution said, “Hydrogen is a good match with Uline’s 3 operating principles: Speed, Passion, and Operational Excellence

Angi Energy

Angi Energy Systems is currently working on a $4M hydrogen refueling test facility in Janesville, Wisconsin. This is the first hydrogen refueling test facility throughout the Midwest. This facility will be used for testing hydrogen refueling stations systems and components for heavy-duty and passenger vehicles that are hydrogen powered.

Heartland Hydrogen Hub

The Heartland Hydrogen Hub (HH2H) will have a focus on decarbonizing production of fertilizer electric generation throughout the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Last year Wisconsin’s Governor Tony Evers made an announcement to Jon the Heartland Hydrogen Hub group.

Midwest Hydrogen Hub

The Midwest Hydrogen Hub (MachH2) will have a focus on helping accelerate transportation, aviation, industrial processes (refining, steelmaking, and glassmaking), and agriculture. This hub is represented by Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

Powering What's Next

It’s not about changing the way we generate energy.

It’s about acting today to meet our customers’ energy needs tomorrow.

Alliant Energy created a clean energy blueprint that to set to acheive net-zero CO2 emmissions by 2050 and to eliminate all coal from their generation fleet by 2040!
